Media x Women is a diversified group, dedicated to amplifying the accomplishments of women in media worldwide at every career level. We support continued advancements through education, collaboration, and community.

We are creating videos, podcasts, and other media content to promote women in all fields and positions in Media. Media x Women amplifies the positive impact of media made by women, inspires and informs future female media leaders about career possibilities, and awakens media organizations to the impressive potential of female talent.

Media x Women offers internship and volunteer opportunities that provide highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team of young professionals and industry mentors.

Volunteers and interns obtain hands-on experience in areas that are compatible with their abilities, career goals, and studies. All positions are unpaid.

Graphic Design Intern

Job Responsibilities

  • Create graphics for the organization’s social media, including content pieces for the blog, podcast, website, etc.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, ensuring only the best forms of content are published and are cohesive with Media x Women’s brand
  • Brainstorm interesting new ways to package video content for social; utilizing skills and typography
  • Collaborate with the Digital team to develop social media strategy
  • Stay up to date with design and industry trends
  • Work closely with the Creative Director and Digital Director to carry out projects

Requirements

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator. After Effects and motion graphics experience is preferred
  • Has experience in graphic design; ideally in an advertising setup
  • Strong design aesthetic and knowledge of typography, photo manipulation, etc.
  • Has experience creating digital content – preferably for social media (Instagram, etc.)
  • Has the ability to create artworks rapidly
  • Has good time management skills and an eye for detail

Marketing Intern

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop social media and content strategies that grow brand awareness, engagement, and leverage conversations about Media x Women
  • Play a key role in content creation for social platforms, supporting the process through from ideation to research and copywriting
  • Brainstorm and pitch ideas, staying up to date on social trends and platform updates
  • Support community management and publishing across social media channels
  • Research other brands in the same space and identify opportunities for growth

Associate Content Creator

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and create compelling, organic content that reflects the brand’s values for social media (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Support the content creation process with:
    • Producing and package video content in exciting and user-focused ways
    • Researching, copywriting for social media graphics
  • Work collaboratively with the Digital team on content strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement on social platforms
  • Regularly research latest social media trends and best practices, conceptualizing and pitching new content ideas

Digital Editor

Job Responsibilities

  • The Digital Editor will work across multiple digital platforms, primarily on Media x Women’s Work Play blog to manage, create and curate content schedules
  • Identify innovative techniques to create compelling and meaningful content in alignment with Media x Women’s values
  • Own the scheduling, packaging and publishing content on the website, delegating between editorial interns and contributors
  • Review and edit content written by others, provide feedback and be a source of guidance for others on the editorial team
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing team to develop content strategy and marketing strategy for the blog

Requirements

  • Strong writing skills with a firm grasp on grammar and sentence structure – storytelling, copywriting, social writing

  • Collect and assess analytics across streaming platforms, social media, and website

  • Working with our CEO about tracking executed agreements
  • Flagging any publishing assets, agreements, entity for our Legal Council
  • Gain practical experience reviewing contracts and licensing agreements
  • Tracking changes with basic agreements for reference/templatizing
  • Sitting in on meetings and negotiations, via video or email negotiations

Business Operations Intern

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess and develop operational processes to improve the workflow between teams, projects, and assets.
  • Work with the Research & Analytics Associate on market, competitor, and industry research when needed.
  • Research technical platforms and services (e.g. transcription services, email servicers, etc.) and advise the team on the best course of action.
  • Upkeep calendars for team projects.
  • Upkeep and manage databases.
  • Assist the Operations team with day-to-day tasks such as scheduling, file management, note-taking and tracking status of projects.

Associate Video Editor

Job Responsibilities

  • Edit interview footage from Media x Women’s Fast 5 series: a series of short-form videos that share tips and intel from industry leaders and experts for personal and professional development
  • Package content to be clean and easy-to-digest
  • Create graphics for said video content; such as title screens, lower-thirds etc.
  • Work with the Production team and be involved throughout the process, leading up to the edit
  • Brainstorm interesting new ways to package video content
  • Collaborate with the Digital team to ideate and create bite-sized video content from the Fast 5 series for social media platforms

  • Provide support for Media x Women’s Fast 5 series: a series of short-form videos that share tips and intel from industry leaders and experts for personal and professional development
  • Assist the Fast 5 Production team with day-to-day operations such as scheduling, note taking, recording/filming, and tracking status of projects
  • Work closely with the Fast 5 team and the Digital team with file sharing and scheduling

Talent Booker Intern

Job Responsibilities

  • Research and pitch business leaders, inventors, innovators, change-makers, authors, entertainers, and high-profile media professionals for Media x Women’s podcast, How She Made It.
  • Monitor top trends in all areas of business and entertainment news.
  • File and spreadsheet management; source and update contact information for How She Made It guests.
  • Coordinate all aspects of guest bookings including communications to the guest's team for How She Made It.
  • Arrange pre-interviews and obtain elements for the guest’s segment.
  • Handle scheduling between Audio/Video Directors, Associate Hosts, and guests via Zoom, Doodle, Google Calendar, and Slack.
  • Work closely with the Guest Relations Associate and Directors of Audio/Video to ensure a smooth workflow.
